Literature Review

According to an article on a newspaper from the United Kingdom called The Guardian which we found on the Internet, myopia is caused by the lenses in the eyes of people to stretch and become elongated, and thus causing the retina of people to be blurred. Most doctors agree that excessive screen-watching can increase the chances of getting myopia, especially if the screen is very close to one’s eyes. Apparently, sporting or even going outdoors seem to help children to reduce the chances of getting myopia. An American study of several eight-year-olds found that around one in five became myopic within four years – and almost all of those that did played little or no sport. Thus, we can conclude that being more active helps myopia.
